“Stronger Together: Honoring Life and Strengthening Communities”

The 2026 Native American Suicide Prevention and Awareness Conference will unite tribal leaders, educators, youth, health professionals, and community members to share effective and culturally informed strategies for suicide prevention. Through keynote speeches, workshops, networking opportunities, and collaborative learning, attendees will explore methods to strengthen connections, enhance community strengths, and promote mental wellness across Indigenous Nations. This conference is dedicated to fostering resilience, reducing stigma, and supporting the well-being of our communities.

This conference is hosted by Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. (FDIHB) Health Promotion Disease Prevention through the funding of Indian Health Service: Division of Behavioral Health/Behavioral Health Initiative – Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention (SPIP) Grant.

Call for Presenters:

We are excited to invite professionals, individuals, and advocates to submit proposals for breakout sessions at the 2026 Native American Suicide Prevention & Awareness Conference (NASPAC). We welcome presentations on a variety of relevant topics, including, but not limited to, suicidal ideation, trauma, prevention strategies, and self-care practices. Pre-Conference Training

Participate in a variety of half & full day suicide prevetion trainings: SafeTalk, Questions-Persuade-Refer (QPR), Youth & Adult Mental Health First Aid.

Inspiring Keynotes

Be recharged and motivated by speakers who are dedicated to the work of honoring life and strengthenig communities.

Informative Breakout Sessions

Engage in workshops, panel discussions, and presentations centered around breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, shared best practices and encourage solidarity among participants.
