May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month! In honor of this month, we invite you and your family members to tune into this special radio hour ( @AM660KTNN ) as we hear from FDIHB staff:

We'll learn what preeclampsia is, the signs and symptoms, prevention, and how to support our babies and mothers.

Preeclampsia (pre-e-CLAMP-si-a) is a serious pregnancy complication that can cause high blood pressure during pregnancy or the postpartum period. It is often associated with high levels of protein in the urine or the development of decreased blood platelets, trouble with the kidneys or liver, fluid in the lungs, or signs of brain trouble such as seizures and/or visual disturbances.
Know the signs and symptoms:
❗headache
❗high blood pressure
❗blurry vision
❗upper right quadrant pain
❗rapid weight gain
❗swelling
❗shortness of breath
