February is American Heart Month and a perfect time to add red, pink, and purple fruits and veggies, like beets, into your diet. Beets have special nutrients that improve blood flow to the heart. Eating beets can lower your blood pressure and bad cholesterol. They are high in fiber, which is good for digestion, and vitamins to make your skin glow. You can mix raw beets into salads or cook them in delicious dishes. It can be blended into smoothies or eaten straight from a can!

Adding fruits and vegetables on your plate will improve your health by fueling your body with energy and nutrients. Heart disease is preventable so let’s “BEET IT”!
